bla bla bla

is a studio invites you to an exhibit at Gabriola Arts Council for a short time only. Catch it while you can on July 18-19th from 10am to 5pm.

“I often draw and write together. I write on my drawings, draw my writings.  In this show, however, I’ll present only written pieces. 

‘Bla bla bla: prayers and ruminations’ is a body of work that emerged from my day to day journaling. In doing so I use inks of all colour in accordance with my moods. Like my thoughts, some inks are permanent, others not. 

In the last few years I have shifted my exploration of materials from clay and glazes to paper and Ink. Ink is truly alive, it runs, flows, puddles, splatters, even dries on the spot. Like all mediums, ink has a soul. As it follows my breath, writing in cursive reflects an array of all my emotions. 

While inhaling, exhaling, contracting, relaxing, my pen ship expresses my exuberance of joy, my anxiety, my sadness, my attempt to control and bring order as well as my freedom and letting go. 

With the layers of my cursive threads, I want to knit a fabric.  A molecular architecture , a 3D story on the sometimes flat sometimes bumpy land of my prayers and ruminations.”
