The one The only Isa Sevrain
the story of isa
Since being but a grain of sand isa has always been an artist. In one way or another she lives, breathes, and dreams art. The complicated webs she weaves in her brain as every idea fires a mile a minute, every idea a sparkling new discovery. She has had her hand in many a different artistic pie, from miming her way through the streets, painting tableaux of her lovely daughter princess Delphine, to sculpting each piece of clay into a living piece of art. She breathes life into all her work and discipline. She dances her way into your heart with her smooth moves. Weaving lungs out of metal, covering her side table full of ink as she cleans. She can’t help but be an artist.
Written by her amazing one of a kind daughter.
isa breaths art into every thing she does. c'est plus fort qu'elle.
I live on Gabriola Island, British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. Originally I am from Berson, near Bordeaux in southwest France. My childhood was infused with the culture of a traditional French village, gossip and old stones, food and wine, accordion "flonflons” at August carnival.
Today the focus of my work is on ink and paper. I also work collage, three-dimensional pieces and mixed media installations. My approach to everything I create artistically is through movement: when I draw, I dance with line; when I paint, I dance in colour; and when I work the clay, I dance with its mass. Movement fascinates me and I plan to keep on dancing.
